Monitors, maintains, and gauges fuel in tanks, tanker trucks and, collapsible bladders on tactical fuel farms. Performs usage calculations and maintains fuel levels to meet mission requirements. Prepares and verifies receiving and/or fuel shipping documents; visually inspects fuel samples and checks API gravity and temperature. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on tactical fuel systems and fuel tanker trucks. Familiar with the hazards of petroleum products, such as safe fuel- handling procedures, the dangers of static electricity, and grounding & bonding. May be responsible for oversight and leading the work of subcontract workers. Experience required in military and/or civilian aviation cold and hot refueling operations on military and civilian aircraft to include fueling services of various types of aircraft. Position requires a high school diploma, a minimum of three (3) years military fuel operations experience or equivalent experience in the civilian sector of fuel operations as described within. Skills normally acquired through use of military tactical fuel distribution systems and fuel accountability paperwork procedures.
Must be knowledgeable regarding various fuel tank inventory methods: four and single point gauging procedures of fuel bladders; use of petroleum gauging sticks for fuel tanker trucks, fuel storage tanks and SmartTanks; tape and bob method for inventorying large fuel tanks Must be able to perform fuel servicing of generator internal or external fuel tanks Must be able to perform Aqua-Glo and Millipore testing Must be knowledgeable in the BRAG rating system for tactical fuel bladders Must be knowledgeable with capitalized and non- capitalized fuel accounting and volume correction procedures Must be fluent in English Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages (front and back) remaining Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
