Purpose of Position

Maintain awareness of aviation safety best practices and trends and make recommendations to enhance FlightSafety training programs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Industry trend monitoring using public and private data sources to identify areas of opportunity in FlightSafety training programs.
  • Research and correlate safety investigation information related to aviation and other industry accidents
  • Develop and foster partnerships with key business leaders to provide recommendations to drive business results as it relates to training
  • Make courseware enhancement recommendations
  • Make training delivery enhancement recommendations
  • Manage the development of aviation safety related communication (internal and external)
  • Represent FlightSafety within various aviation safety organizations and committees   
  • Act as a focal point for regulator and investigator inquiries related to aviation accidents and/or incidents
  • Special projects as assigned

Minimum Education

  • Bachelors’ degree required.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate or higher.
  • Flight instructor ratings and experience preferred.
  • Formal safety training preferred.

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years’ experience in the aviation sector as a safety professional, flight instructor or management position in a commercial operator or flight school.
  • Previous safety program experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Flight Instructor certificate preferred.
  • Independent thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to compile and distil complex data sets into simple language summaries.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partner organizations.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills.
